Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Lit ("we", "our", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile and web application.

Lit is designed around a simple principle: we only collect what the product needs to work, and nothing else.

1. Who we are

Lit is developed by Lit Planner. If you have questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at privacy@litplanner.app.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to provide the features you actively use:

Account information: your email address, used to sign you in via a one-time verification code. If you add a name or photo in your profile settings, we store that too.
Content you create: tasks, notes, lists, images, and links you add in Today, Inbox, and Vision.
Financial information (optional): if you choose to turn on Finance, the income, bill, and expense figures you enter. This feature is off by default and stores nothing until you opt in.
Goals and milestones you create.
Voice recordings: only if you use voice capture in the Inbox, processed to text and not stored as audio.
Basic device information: device type and operating system version, used only for crash reporting and compatibility.

We do not collect location data, contacts, or browsing history from other apps.

3. How we use your information

To operate the core features of the app (tasks, capture, boards, finance, goals)
To sync your data across your own devices
To respond to support requests
To fix bugs and improve reliability

We do not sell your data. We do not use your task or financial content to train AI models. We do not show ads.

4. Where your data is stored

Your account and content are stored using Supabase (database and authentication) and hosted via Vercel. Some content may also be stored locally on your device for offline use. These providers may process data in the United States or the European Union depending on region.

5. Third-party services

Lit uses a small number of third-party services, each limited to a specific purpose:

Resend — delivers the email containing your one-time sign-in code
Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
Vercel — web hosting
microlink.io — generates link previews for URLs you save in Vision (only the URL is sent, not your personal data)
RevenueCat — manages subscription status if you purchase Lit Plus, without accessing your task or financial content

6. Your rights

Wherever you are, you can:

Access and export your data from within the app
Correct or update your information at any time
Delete your account and associated data by contacting us or using the in-app option

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you additionally have rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability, the right to object to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing your information is your consent and the necessity to perform our contract with you (providing the app's features).

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal content within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal reasons.

8. Children's privacy

Lit is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and access controls — to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data as safe as reasonably possible.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Lit evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app before they take effect.
